 Advanced Systems Design is seeking a Decision Support Specialist, Advanced for our client located in Tallahassee, FL.

This position is onsite in Tallahassee, FL, and requires in-person availability starting day 1. 

Job Overview:

Serve as the Data Analyst for the Department’s D&A Office to support data visualization and analysis needs. This position supports the Office of Environmental Accountability and Transparency developing dashboards and reports using Qlik Sense.

  • Develop visually appealing, intuitive, user friendly, and insightful Qlik Sense dashboards and reports
  • Advise program areas on which visualizations and analyses would best help them achieve their goals
  • Collaborate with data engineers and others to gather and clean data from various sources, ensuring data integrity and quality
  • Use statistical methods and techniques to identify patterns, trends, correlations, and anomalies, and extract meaningful insights
  • Interpret results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation to more complex statistical analysis
  • Work collaboratively with program areas to identify KPIs and develop metrics to track and measure progress toward goals
  • Collaborate with data engineers and others to optimize data collection, storage, and retrieval processes
  • Monitor data quality to identify data issues and propose data cleansing or enhancement solutions
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data analysis, visualization, and reporting
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, scientists, and others to understand data needs, address technical challenges, and promote data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • Provide overall direction, guidance and definition of the enterprise’s architecture to effectively support the agency’s business strategy.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members and colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and excellence in D&A practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years’ proven experience in data visualization and analysis
  • Proficient in gathering and cleaning data from various sources 
  • Familiar with statistical methods and techniques to identify patterns, trends, correlations, and anomalies 
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate program requirements into technical solutions and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.(Proficiency level: 4)
  • Good oral (presenting and public speaking) and written (documentation, briefing reports, correspondence, PowerPoint presentations, etc.) communication skills.(Proficiency level: 3)
  • Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with Qlik Sense.
  • Experience with Oracle SQL Developer, TOAD, or similar data tools.
  • Familiarity with environmental data. 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Science, or other Information Technology major, or equivalent work experience.
