Advanced Systems Design is seeking a SQL Developer for our client located in Montgomery, AL.

This position is onsite in Montgomery, AL, and requires in-person availability starting day 1. 

Job Overview:

  • Requires full proficiency in T-SQL as identified by the development manager.
  • Create Stored Procedures
  • SSIS ETL Packages
  • Unit tests
  • Documentation of developed code
  • Status updates as requested by the Project Manager and Development Manager.
  • Ability to write advanced SQL commands.
  • Ability to test and troubleshoot database procedures and ETL Packages.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Elicit data requirements by assisting with interviews, document analysis, data requirements workshops, Data process descriptions, use cases, Data analysis, task and workflow analysis.
  • SQL Servers version 2012 and later
  • Develop new SSIS/SSRS packages to meet business needs.
  • Experience in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
  • Has the ability to receive a request from the business and translate that into a query/ad hoc report independently.
  • Has the ability to review table structures and understand the database
  • Has the ability to review existing stored procedures and SSIS packages to understand processes

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years experience with extensive knowledge of Agile process development in .Net, MVS, and SQL
  • Working hands-on with all aspects of the System Development Life Cycle
  • Ability to document code developed by analyst
  • Experience with project development methodology and ability to apply methodology in a practical manner
  • Proficiency using SQL databases including SSIS.
  • Create Stored Procedures, Views, Triggers, Functions, T-SQL, Indexes, Cursors, Performance Tuning, and SQL Profiler.
  • Including writing complex queries using SQL
  • Participate in the ongoing development and support of the existing production system, both technically and functionally.
  • Work closely with other developers and analysts to ensure development meets requirements and delivers optimal performance to our end users.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and SMEs to scope the opportunities, identify constraints, and help mitigate risks.
  • Research and adapt technical solutions based on changing business needs.
  • Provide technical mentoring for team members as needed.
  • Actively look for opportunities to enhance standards and improve process efficiency.
  • Researches, evaluates, and recommends new Internet tools and applications for use in assigned responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently. Develop automated tests to use for regression and unit testing.
  • Proficiency using SQL databases including SSIS. Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge in SSRS to develop reports

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7 years of experience in SQL development experience
  • 5 years of experience in Stored Procedures
  • SSIS ETL Packages
  • 5 years of experience in ETL development
  • 5 years of experience in tools for data extraction and migration.
  • Prior experience with Medicaid/Medicare is highly preferred.
  • System analysis SoftwareAG webMethods InRules SSRS MS Team Foundation Server, Net

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field. Or equivalent work experience
