Quality Assurance Analyst - 2340
Advanced Systems Design is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst for our client located in Montgomery, AL.
This position is onsite in Montgomery, AL, and requires in-person availability starting day 1.
Job Overview:
- The incumbent will work with multiple development environments and may work on multiple programs/systems as a project team member.
- They will be expected to become a subject matter expert for the clients system.
- Perform manual testing of applications, create and maintain test data, and document test results to ensure that changes to systems accurately meet technical and functional requirements.
- Review methodology documentation for accuracy, completeness and quality so that new systems and changes to existing systems are completed accurately and in accordance with defined standards.
- Design, develop, and document test plans and test scripts so that accurate test documentation exists for all assigned applications.
- Work closely with all levels of DHR, Vendor and Partner Agency staff to share information and provide support so that system integrity is maintained, risk factors to applications are addressed, and users are able to perform their testing activities in a controlled test environment.
- Provide and model positive, professional, and courteous customer service to DHR employees, other agencies, vendors, contractors, and the general public by sharing job knowledge and responding to requests for information/service in a timely, efficient, competent manner so that issues are resolved according to prescribed timeframes and specifications.
- Communicate, both orally and in writing, with Division staff, supervisors, County/Division Directors, department employees, vendors, contractors, and the general public so that correct information is provided in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience testing large, complex mainframe applications
- 5+ years of experience testing projects developed using waterfall methodology
- 5+ years of experience analyzing Functional and Technical Requirements
- 5+ years of experience participating in code and design walkthroughs
- 5+ years of experience with Test Management
- 5+ years of experience analyzing requirements and design documents to design, create, and implement Test Plans, Test Strategies, and Test Scripts
- 5+ years of experience reading code to understand processing and data structures
- 5+ years of experience partnering with technical team members and other project stakeholders to develop Test Cases, Test Scripts and Test Scenarios
- 5+ years of experience analyzing test results
- 5+ years of experience creating and maintaining test documentation and test reports
- 5+ years of experience with defect reporting, triage, and tracking
- 5+ years of experience using ISPF to access datasets, jobs and databases
- 5+ years of experience using CICS to navigate applications
- 5+ years of experience creating, modifying, and managing datasets
- 5+ years of experience creating, modifying, and executing JCL
- 5+ years of experience with writing, debugging, and executing SQL
- 5+ years of experience following formal Configuration Management procedures

Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher with a minimum of 5 years of experience in testing mainframe applications. (Or) High School diploma or GED with a minimum of 8 years of experience in testing mainframe applications.
Education Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Quality Management, Information Technology, or Computer Science
