Project Management Specialist, Intermediate - 2342
Advanced Systems Design is seeking a Project Management Specialist, Intermediate for our client located in Tallahassee, FL.
This position is on-site in Tallahassee, FL, and requires in-person availability starting day 1.
Job Overview:
The Project Management Specialist will serve as the principal line of communication for the project team. The duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows:
- Designs, implements, evaluates, and audits project management processes and templates for the Project Management Office (PMO);
- Compiles metrics relating to IT project success, project attributes, individual productivity, and adherence to defined processes;
- Tracks costs and performance, service levels, and other metrics required to ensure project goals and objectives are met;
- Serves as a resource to project managers and project leaders to educate and assist them with implementing project management processes and making improvements and changes;
- Provides administrative support to project managers and project leaders;
- Ensures project control systems are in place and integrates project data for decision-makers;
- Administers and maintains project management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project Server);
- Organizes and publishes project-related documentation from various sources; and
- Knowledge of project management tools, methods, and best practices such as those defined by the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of three (3) years of project support and/or management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possess a certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP®);
- Experience managing projects with a large, distributed user base;
- Experience managing state government projects and knowledge of Rule 60GG-1, Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C);
- Experience managing vendor projects and working with technical programming teams;
- Ability to take initiative to solve complex problems;
- Knowledge of IT standards in a criminal justice environment;
- Skills in negotiation, mediation, facilitation, and team building; and
- Team player attitude with a high-energy level and diligent work ethic.
Education:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field, or four (4) years of equivalent work experience is required. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis when applicable.
