Senior Database Analyst

Advanced Systems Design is looking for a Senior Database Analyst for a client in Tallahassee, FL.  The candidate selected for this role will have responsibility for designing, modeling, developing and supporting Database Management Systems (DBMS).  Additionally, this advanced-level DBA will be someone who:

  • Analyzes data requirements, application and processing architectures, data dictionaries, and database schema(s), and then designs, develops, amends, optimizes, and certifies database schema design to meet system(s) requirements;
  • Gathers, analyzes, and normalizes relevant information related to, and from business processes, functions, and operations to evaluate data credibility and determine relevance and meaning; 
  • Develops database and warehousing designs across multiple platforms and computing environments;
  • Develops an overall data architecture that supports the information needs of the business in a flexible but secure environment.

Minimum Qualifications: 

The requirements for this position include:

  • Proficiency with developing technical specifications standards, procedures and techniques for collecting, processing, storing, and distributing data.
  • Proficiency with collecting, processing, storing, and distributing data by encouraging data access and data sharing.
  • Proficiency with developing a metadata of information about entities, data elements representing entities, relationships between entities, their origins, meanings, uses, and representation formats.
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining an enterprise data model.
  • Proficiency with analyzing the proposed data elements to be added to the data base structures and determining their impact on size and performance to the databases.
  • Proficiency in Analyzing data base operational performance to ensure response time minimums are met and identifying problems at an early stage before the integrity of the data base is threatened
  • Proficiency with Visual Basic .NET. and VBScript.
  • Proficiency coding ASP.NET Web applications and ASP / VBScript web pages.
  • Proficiency coding VB.NET Windows based applications.
  • Proficiency developing XML Web Services and Server Components with VB.NET.
  • Proficiency in Querying MS-SQL using T-SQL.
  • Proficiency in COBOL language
  • Proficiency in SQL for DB2 and IMS-DL1/DL2
